Ninja Tracking are close to releasing their new tracking panel interface, with the very latest architecture, security and monitoring technology we believe Ninja will have the best GPS tracking solution in the market. Utilising cloud based server technology and cutting edge software development means our service will be as good as it can get in todays market place. Ninja News →

Ninja are soon to launch a fabulous new GPS tracking control panel that uses state of the art security and the very latest technology.

The new panel is unlike anything available on the market today and whilst it continues with the theme of usability it is state of the art with the interactivity and stability. What is more the panel will make the service more dependable and give a greater stability.

No longer will our customers have to download software and plugins, the new panel uses high quality code and up to date development techniques. Ninja Tracking are currently interfacing their GDSP M2M Sim platform and the result will be the most robust and accurate service available.

Our GPS tracking hardware is already as good as it gets especially when quality is combined with the low cost, the panel is now in its last stages of testing and the GDSP interface is almost complete too. One of the most important advances in this development is the introduction of real security for data and service delivery.

It will also allow us to develop further products and solutions as these will interface easily with our new system. In addition Ninja have chosen a solution that is cloud based and utilises load balanced web servers and distributes information to three separate nodes to minimise hardware failures. The result is a level of security and robustness that is at the highest level. In addition encryption, access management and monitoring are also major features.

Watch out doon for the new GPS platform from Ninja Tracking.

Ninja tracked luxury goods from the UK to Hong Kong with a perfect record of positions even on the runway at Heathrow, the luxury goods were tracked all the way to destination and the operation included live tracking at certain risk points. See the pictures and the track here in this post - Ninja Goes to Hong Kong. Ninja News →

Ninja trackers were deployed on cargo that has landed in Hong Kong.

After some expensive losses our client approached us to see if we had a solution that would enable valuable air freight to be tracked to destination. Ninja trackers were deployed using slim line 3 month powered flexible pouches, this allowed for covert deployment.

Traditionally extended powered trackers have been placed into hard shell pelicases but this was not versatile enough as a solution for these particular luxury goods. The Ninja solution was a flexible pouch with the extended battery pack fitted in a long slim line fashion. This allows for concealment with the added benefit that the tracker will not need a recharge for 3 months.

In the track we watched live on the panel as the cargo was delivered to Heathrow and then even observed as the plane taxied down the runway. You can see these screenshots below, the tracker then went into flight mode for the duration of the flight before activating once more once the plane landed. The beauty of this system is that for the duration of the flight the tracker goes into sleep mode and saves battery and position credits, this is a feature that has even more value on long haul shipping and freight.

On the approach to Heathrow

We watched the cargo approach the airport and then into the holding area ready for its trip to Hong Kong.

Cargo on route Hong Kong side to destination – Note the history in this panel view
Once the cargo landed at Hong Kong we then tracked it safely to its destination, the client particularly liked the control panel, the accuracy of the positions and the fact that at crucial moments they could easily change the position sending rate to 10 seconds which enabled them to see if there was any deviation from the prescribed route

In addition to this the element of flight mode means that the trackers will be intelligent in a remote capacity and going into sleep mode has huge benefits on battery life. This is because traditionally when a tracker such as the Prime loses signal (as it will out at sea or in the air) the GPS gateway sticks open and there is a huge power drain for the duration of the journey until signal is back.

All in all this is a really good solution for international cargo and especially luxury goods such as fashion and cosmetics.

In the course of October and into November Ninja have had some impressive feedback from clients protecting assets, as a UK based GPS tracking company Ninja have also made great gains in the worldwide GPS market. However it is in the UK that we are seeing such impressive results much of it in the fight against crime both casual and organised.

In the last 21 days we have seen drug busts, motor assets recovered, container theft thwarted and a myriad of arrests all due to the deployment of the Ninja.

The interesting facts with one element of the success was the way monitoring of the tracker led from one crime scene to another.

RFID and GPS is going to be deployed in a single device solution to assist in the tracking and recovery of large amounts of medical equipment, the technology is already available as seperate tracking solutions but now it is to be twinned in a single device by Ninja. The beauty of this solution is it utilises GPS for localised proximity location and then the RFID allows for actual focus on the asset and will lead the recovery teams to with a few inches of the exact location. The beauty of this is the way that the solution stems RF noise until the last minute allowing for minimum interference to hospital infrastructure during the location process. Ninja News →

Breaking RF/GPS News

Hospitals in the UK are losing so much valuable equipment that they are introducing a GPS tracking solutions that incorporate an added RFID for close range location.

The epidemic of lost equipment has reached such a level that it is putting pressure on hospital equipment budgets. One hospital in Norfolk is losing as many as 5 items of high value a week, typically it is related to emergency transfer and stabilisation situations. Equipment is lost when high dependency patients are transferred between hospitals and in an emergency situation the patients needs are foremost and the recovery of the equipment used in the transfer is of secondary importance.

Often the equipment stays with the patient for some time which means that the staff member used in the transfer is long gone with other emergencies and so cannot return with the equipment.

The technology works by using RF in conjunction with high quality GPS trackers, the GPS tracker is used to define the area and the proximity of the tracker and then the RF transmitter allows for actual location from close range.

The issue is that many of these high value medical appliances are put into cupboards in store rooms so GPS will dictate the hospital and then the wing, sometimes the block if it is on an outside wall but then when its inside you need the RFID capability.

As always the primary challenge to GPS/RF is always power, in order for these devices to work they need power and GPS is power hungry. RF is also power intensive so the solution for hospitals is to enable the RF transmitter to be switched on when the GPS tracker proximity is localised. Switching then to RFID will allow two things, firstly it minimises RF noise in the hospital which is important. Secondly the hand held RF scanner will then take the user to within inches of the location and the equipment will then be recovered efficiently.

It is expected that this dual GPS/RF technology will be implemented from the first quarter of 2013 for testing in selected hospitals before being rolled out UK wide.

The new advert for KitKat by Nestle utilises GPS tracking technology but is this a sound idea considering the $10k prize when there is no control over who opens the winning packets. Maybe a 10 year old will open one up in the park and this could make for a dangerous situation in todays world. That said it is encouraging to see the aspect of GPS in the spotlight as many people have no idea just what can be done with the technology of today. Ninja News →

So Kit Kat have recognised the potential of GPS tracking in the modern world and are now utilising it in their latest advertising campaign. The idea is that you purchase a KitKat which is one of four products from the Nestle range included in the advertising and then you are tracked down and presented with a case load of money.

On the television the KitKat advert looks really innovative and has been very well received, this is in stark contrast to the Toyota campaign which resulted in multi million dollar lawsuits.

The tracker we believe is running a UK based SIM since the tracking sequence only works if triggered in the UK. It is a bold step by Nestle considering the implications of a child buying a KitKat and then discovering the tracker. That said I don’t for one minute think there is any issue in the child having a tracker or being locatable in a commercial enterprise.

No for me it is about the possible danger of a 10 year old buying a KitKat and going to the park whereby adults and older children will immediately recognise the potential of £10k in the hands of a minor.

Considering you get mugged for just £20 in the street these days there is without doubt some risk involved with this and the disclaimer that people under the age of 18 should only activate the tracker with an adult present is way too flakey.

So at Ninja Tracking we wish the competition / promotion every success, it is exciting and innovative and a bold step. We also believe it will raise the profile of what trackers can do and how they have a place in every household.

So good luck to Nestle and if you read this article and you are interested in GPS tracking then give us a call. We believe our device will be far superior to the one used by Nestle in the KitKat advert and you can see how good the concept is from what they have done.

Contact Ninja and see just how we can help you, we track containers around the world, cattle in Scotland, Horses in Norfolk, Children across the world, cars and motorbikes globally and all with a low cost GPS tracking solution.

The expedition to Ladakh is being led by Jacki-Hill Murphy who is using our 1 month extended battery GPS tracker, it is going to track her progress on 5 minute intervals all the way from the airport to Ladakh and back again. Good luck to Jacki from Ninja Tracking Systems. Ninja News →

Jacki Hill-Murphy Treks to Ladakh

Yes following in the footsteps of Isabella Bird, Jacki is trekking to Ladakh, this will involve crossing the Digar-La Pass to Hundar and Deskit.

The intrepid Jacki Hill-Murphy has fitted a Ninja GPS Tracker to her backpack and so we will be following her on the journey and it will be interesting to see how the tracker performs when it starts to go to altitude. The tracker is our 1 month rechargeable tracker that is ain a Goretex pouch and this should give Jacki ample time for battery power without needing to recharge.

Ninja will periodically post updates on both the performance of the tracker and Jacki’s progress, we will also publish the access to the control panel so that other explorers and adventure travellers can log in and see how she is doing.

Jacki has a long history of intrepid journey’s and will be well prepared for the rigours of this one, this is indeed a remote region and it will be really interesting to read about the challenges as well as see the pictures. The expedition may well find its way into a book and a DVD so here at Ninja we are especially keen for the performance of the tracker to be good.

If all goes well then this should provide a really great tracking opportunity for other explorers and adventure tour operators to track their progress with a device they can depend on.

In this ever dangerous world it makes sense to use modern technology to track adventurers and expeditions, lets see how Ninja do over the next few weeks.

Future posts will include screenshots and for starters here is one of Jacki sitting on the plane before turning the device off prior to takeoff.

We wish you the very best of luck on your expedition to Ladakh!

We watched his progress right through the Scottish Highlands, through Wales and then down through Bristol and the West coast. It was an incredible track without missing a beat, the Ninja GPS tracker performed brilliantly and Martin’s friends and family were all able to watch his progress. Ninja News →

Ninja Tracking have their top codemaster embarking on a charity bike ride from John O’Groats to Lands End.

During this epic cycle ride we will be tracking him with our Ninja cycle tracker and so we have enabled our control panel to have access for anyone who wants to follow his progress.

Martin is looking to raise money for the ‘Help for Heroes’ charity and will cover 1000 miles on his journey, we will be tracking him the whole way with our 1 month rechargeable Ninja. As we have always said everybody should have their own Ninja to keep them safe, martin will be tracked every 2 minutes from start to finish.

To follow Martin’s progress use this link Tracking Martin Smith and then enter the name:- Martin in the login box (upper case M). For the best experience you can switch the map to Satellite view and you can also see martins history of his journey so far.

Most of the tracking panel functions have been turned off so people will be unable to change important settings on the GPS panel.

Here at Ninja we think that the Help for Heroes charity is a great cause and the cycle ride that Martin is doing (with his old school mate) is a really great challenge and we wish him all the best.

Of course Martin is raising money by doing this and whilst he has sorted out sponsorship in the normal fashion for friends etc we have now set up a donations page for Martin at Virgin Money who independently vet and manage any donations.

Ninja Tracking Systems are proud to announce a partnership with Vodafone and their M2M data management platform, all Ninja tracking devices will soon be on this platform which offers stability and efficiency beyond anything else in the market place. The Vodafone M2M platform provides a global SIM solution and backup on all critical functionality ensuring there is no single point of failure for our GPS tracking service. Ninja News →

Ninja Are Moving To M2M

Ninja are proud to announce we are moving to the Vodafone M2M platform, this is the worlds best machine to machine solution for GPS solutions.

After careful testing with Vodafone M2M Ninja found more stability and more connectivity with the M2M SIMS but more than anything we discovered that the whole platform is much more robust and reliable than the traditional services that GPS companies use.

For Vodafone to accept Ninja is also a great accolade for us and they were suitably impressed with the way the GPS tracking solution is set up at Ninja.

The new service should be live in the next month and at that point all future SIMS will run on the M2M platform, the system is amazingly solid and as most people involved with GPS tracking there are a number of critical points that can be vulnerable to failure from SIMS going offline to third party SMS platforms failing.

When this happens tracking devices will cease to function until the failure is fixed, this is a thorn in the side of any GPS tracking company.

With the Vodafone machine to machine platform failure is no longer a prospect due to the way the system is backed up and multi served from different locations meaning there is no one single point for failure.

The testing has been ongoing for a few weeks and we have just concluded our live ‘in the field’ tests the results have been impeccable.
